Outside

dscn0836.jpgSince it’s winter, there’s not much to see outside the house except for bare trees and empty flower beds. Thankfully, the front yard is graced with two evergreen trees and one large evergreen bush, which help to provide color during the winter months. The evergreen bush creates a nice screen from passersby on the road, while providing the living room with color year-round. In the spring, however, the flower beds erupt with perennial crocuses, daffodils, tulips, and flox, bringing a variety of color to the yard.

The beds in the summer are filled with daisies, coneflowers, black-eyed susans, hosta, and lillies. Because the beds are fairly established, it doesn’t take a lot of maintenance to keep them up during the summer months. A couple times of weeding and cutting back are all they require. Here are some pictures of our beautiful summer flowers that we’ve taken:

We’ve been able to use our yard for many things: birthday parties, candlelit dinner parties on the back deck, a play area for our toddler, picnics at the picnic table on random summer evenings, planting numerous vegetables and herbs in the garden plot, and just enjoying the outdoors.
